Taking place from 29 November to 1 December at Pentas 1, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac), this exciting performance will showcase excerpts from two beloved ballet classics: Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Under the artistic direction of Janek Schergen, Singapore Ballet promises a captivating evening of ballet, complete with enchanting music, stunning choreography, and unforgettable storytelling. In addition to the performances, Schergen will also host a special Masterclass for budding dancers on 30 November, offering valuable insights into the world of ballet.

A Message from Janek Schergen
Artistic Director Janek Schergen shared, “At Singapore Ballet, we are committed to bringing the very best to our audiences. As the company continues to evolve, we are focused on nurturing our dancers and expanding our repertory. We are here to share the magic of dance, and we thank you for joining us on this journey.”

Swan Lake: A Timeless Ballet Classic
The performance will begin with Swan Lake, one of the most iconic ballets of all time. The story follows Prince Siegfried, who, on the hunt in the forest, discovers a group of swans that are actually maidens cursed by the evil sorcerer Rothbart. When Siegfried falls in love with the Swan Queen, Odette, she reveals the tragic curse that binds her and her companions to swan forms by day. The curse can only be broken if someone swears undying love and loyalty to her. Singapore Ballet will perform Act 1 and Act 2, bringing this timeless tale of love and sacrifice to life.

The Nutcracker: A Family Favourite
After the intermission, the performance will continue with highlights from the beloved holiday classic The Nutcracker. Set on Christmas Eve, the story follows young Clara Stahlbaum, who receives a Nutcracker doll from her godfather, Drosselmeyer. That night, the Nutcracker comes to life, leading Clara on a magical journey to defeat the Mouse King and enter the enchanting Land of Sweets. Filled with whimsical dances and festive charm, The Nutcracker has become a holiday favourite around the world.
