About Invisible Habitudes

In an era of rapid political and social change, where opinions become more polarized and absolute, Invisible Habitudes offers a dance performance that examines the complexities of personal belief and identity. Created by Kuik Swee Boon, award-winning Taiwanese musician Wang Yu-jun, and Singaporean lighting designer Adrian Tan, the work features six dance artists from T.H.E Dance Company.

The performance is based on T.H.E’s signature HollowBody™ methodology, an improvisation-driven approach that taps into the dancers’ raw impulses, exploring the deep connection between mind, heart, and body. Through this methodology, the dancers become vessels expressing fluid identities shaped by personal memory, culture, and ethnicity. Invisible Habitudes emphasizes compassion over rigid convictions, offering an inclusive narrative that invites reflection on the fluidity of identity in a changing world.

Originally commissioned by Singapore’s Esplanade da

Festival in 2018, Invisible Habitudes premiered at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay and has since toured Europe, captivating audiences in Latvia, Poland, and Italy.
