PJPAC is thrilled to announce the premiere of their inaugural production, “CINDERELLA: A Musical Comedy for All Ages!” running from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024.
This exciting debut by PJPAC aims to bring the magic of performing arts and local talent directly to the doorstep of Bandar Utama and its neighboring communities. Serving as a platform for our homegrown artists to shine, PJPAC invites audiences to embark on a delightful journey into a reimagined Cinderella tale.
Far from the conventional narrative, this rendition of Cinderella promises a unique blend of live music, contemporary humor, audience engagement, a sprinkle of K-Pop flair, and visually captivating scenes, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.
“CINDERELLA” transcends the boundaries of the traditional fairy tale, advocating for themes of love, empathy, and kindness prevailing over deceit, selfishness, and bullying, all while adding a touch of magic to reflect the zeitgeist of our era.
As a special treat, on June 1st (Saturday) at the 3:00 PM matinee, the audience is invited to participate in a dress-up contest, with the chance to strut their stuff on stage and win fabulous prizes for the best-dressed attendees.
Attendees can also explore a mini exhibition highlighting the rich history of pantomime, musical theater, and the Cinderella story, offering insights into how these genres have influenced Malaysian audiences.
Under the artistic direction of Joanna Bessey, the production boasts a stellar cast of rising stars including Mia Sara Shauki, Brian Chan, and Nabil Zakaria, alongside renowned comedians Joanne Kam and Papi Zak, and a talented ensemble featuring Amsalan Doraisingam, Izzaldin K, Sheikh Irfan Mansor, Alya Amani, Arief Danial, Feyee Bethany, Janelle Arnelia, Julia Batrisyia, Swarna Naidu, and Tan Guan Lin (Johnson).
