The two-day festival will return to the hills, bringing back the good vibes to Genting Highlands
Kuala Lumpur, 8th May 2024–After much anticipation and curiosity, Good VibesFestival is thrilled to invite festival-goers to once again traverse the tree-lined driveway of Genting Highlands. Returning to its much-loved two-day format, the festival is set to take place on 20 to 21 July at Resorts World Awana, specifically at the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets (GHPO) bus parking lot, and promises to bring back the good vibes with Peggy Gou, J Balvin, Joji and Russ as headliners. Due to popular demand, the festival will be opening its doors to music lovers aged 16 years old and above. Tickets will go on sale at 11:00 AM on Friday, 10 May at www.goodvibesfestival.com.

Fresh off her stint at Coachella, Peggy Gou (“(It Goes Like) Nanana”, “Starry Night”), who kicked off the excitement for Good Vibes Festival this year by dropping her tour dates on Instagram, is set to headline the festival. With her knack for innovation and viral hits, the Berlin-based South Korean’s electrifying sets effortlessly blend techno, house, and electro, captivating audiences worldwide. Joining Peggy Gou is Colombian sensation, J Balvin (“LA CANCIÓN”, “MiGente”), who also had a wildly successful run at Coachella this year, and whose massive popularity and influence have solidified his position as one of the best-selling Latin music artists worldwide. With over 52 million monthly listeners on Spotify and numerous awards to his name, including Billboard Latin Music Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards, J Balvin’s impact on the music industry is undeniable. From his early beginnings in Medellín to becoming the first Latino to headline world-musical events like Coachella, Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza.
Next, get ready to sing in unison to the chart-toppers, “Glimpse of Us” and “SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK” with the global superstar and master of hauntingly beautiful lyrics, JOJI as he captivates audiences. Joining him on stage is the enigmatic and multifaceted rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, Russ(“Zoo”, “Shake the Snow Globe”). Emerging from the Atlanta-area underground scene, his mainstream breakthrough came with the platinum-certified album “There’s Really a Wolf.” With melodic hooks and introspective lyrics, Russ has solidified his position as one of the most influential artists in modern hip-hop.
Adding to the lineup is Alec Benjamin (“Let Me Down Slowly”, “Water Fountain”)who brings his captivating storytelling to the stage. With over 4 billion global streams and a dedicated fan base, Alec’s talent shines through in his sophomore album “(Un) Commentary,” released in April 2022. Meanwhile, the Vancouver quartet, Peach Pit (“Peach Pit”, “Seventeen,”) promises their signature narratives to the stage with breezy guitar melodies and quirky anthems. The band has earned acclaim at festivals like Bonnaroo and Shaky Knees with their latest single,”Feelin’ Low (F*ckboy Blues),” showcases a fresh twist on their distinctive style. Next up is the most followed up-and-coming artist on TikTok with over 5 million followers, Henry Moodie (“drunk text”, “beat up car”). His chart-topping single,“Drunk Text”, caused a stir in Malaysia and Indonesia, leaving a lasting impact across Southeast Asia.
Coined as one of South Korea’s fastest rising stars, singer-songwriter and actress BIBI (“The Weekend”, “BIBI Vengeance”), is known for her cheeky stage presence, vocals and witty rap lyrics that will leave you mesmerised. Another South Korean on the bill is legendary hip hop artists Tiger JK (“I Want You”, “Do You Know HipHop?”) and his wife Yoon Mi-Rae (“ALWAYS”, “FLOWER”), who are set to greet the crowd of what K Hip Hop and R&B is all about at GVF2024. Joining them are two rising stars from Singapore and the Philippines respectively, HAVEN (“Ride or Die”, “No Hard Feelings”) and Ylona Garcia (“Entertain Me”, “Don’t Go Changing”). Both have rapidly ascended to prominence, mesmerising audiences with their exceptional vocal talents and alluring performances.
Day one will see Cherry Bomb, a female DJ supergroup featuring Aidaho, Jovynn, and Ashley Lau commanding the decks. Get ready to go on a musical journey from deep, dark techno basslines to uplifting house music melodies and every sweet spot in between. Don’t miss homegrown hip hop superstars, GARD WUZGUT known for their smooth synth sounds and effortlessly flowing manglish
lyrics in hits like “Wonderland” and “PAPERBOI.” Joining them is the indie alternative band Spooky Wet Dreams (“Seru”, “Sayang, Tolong Buatkan Abang Teh”), who are ready to enchant the crowd with their Malaysian-centric themes and catchy tunes.
Get ready to groove to the electrifying performance of Saint Kylo (“BAD BAD”, “Paid For”), a household name in Malaysia’s R&B, Funk and Soul scene, as he brings his high-octane live performances to the stage. Immerse yourself in the indie-synth pop sounds of Lost Spaces (“35. mm”, “discohaze”) who have opened for renowned acts like Korean indie rock band HYUKOH and Phum Viphurit. Meanwhile, DJ duo Bad Habits, composed of Bunga from Twilight Actiongirl and Farez aka Robotron 5000 from Dangerdisko, promises a high-octane performance that will set the tone of the night.
Also hitting the stage is Shelhiel (“AAA”, “ Love, Repeat”), a multidisciplinary artist who has made waves internationally with accolades from SXSW and NME, will be playing a DJ set at the Electric Fields stage. Meanwhile, the dynamic producer and DJ DAALIAH(“Big Fish”, “New Ways”), known for her distinctive fusion of electronic beats and experimental rhythms that are guaranteed to get you moving. Joining the roster of local talents is Petaling Jaya’s very own musician and sound enthusiast I-SKY (“MARI”, “SUARA KAMAR”), recognised for his eclectic remixes and soul-stirring soundscape. Adding to the mix is the Malaysian-born, New York-based artist JAIE (“Better Days”, “r u mine”), who promises to bring soulful R&Bpop melodies against the chilly hills of Genting, delivering an enchanting performance that combines vocal aesthetic with organic sounds.
Concluding day one’s lineup are the alternative indie siblings FUAD (“Kami, Akhirnya”, “A Way To Find”), BAD M.O.B known for their seamless fusion of hip hop, afro, amapiano, baile funk, and future beats, and the Kuala Lumpur-based collective Dub Tings, ready to deliver a dose of powerful sub-bass frequencies, jungle breaks, and high-speed DnB.
Day two promises electrifying performances from FORCEPARKBOIS. With over 10 million streams on Spotify, the group is set to ignite the crowd with their infectious hit “LOTUS.” Next up is the bubbly as she is charming, Talitha.(“midnight rendezvous”, “comeoutside”)whose soulful tunes and captivating storytelling will make you feel the rush of falling in love all over again. Also hitting the stage is Malaysian indie band Capt’n Trips and The Kid (“Somewhere”, “Pond”), originally set to make their festival debut at GVF2023, is ready to rock with their psychedelic and alternative rock vibes.
For all the night revellers, brace yourselves to go wild on the dance floor as Mr Yang unleashes his hypnotic beats and wicked mixes on the decks. Naufal, known for his heavy-set electronic music days and trap-infused sets, will guide the night’s mood with his style blending pop, disco, and house sensibilities. SaturdaySelects, a renowned DJ collective with extensive experience in curating live radio shows and club nights, is poised to lead the crowd on a thrilling musical journey through an eclectic selection of sounds, appealing to a diverse audience. With its all-girl lineup, EMO NIGHT KL led by DJ Aida will transport festival-goers back to their teenage years with nostalgic pop-punk and alternative rock music from the early 2000s.
As the second act from Malaysia to play for the international live music series Audiotree, The Filters (“BZD”, “John Pine”) will bring their own unique blend of fractional math rock to the stage. Drawing from personal experiences, Mardiana (“I DON’T CARE”, “Please Just Stay In Love”)blends melodic vocals with various genres, offering introspective lyricism while: TY:DEL (“so in love (tonight)”, “bad together”) will represent the vibrant energy of Kuala Lumpur to captivate the audience with their infectious pop sounds blending diverse influences into a unique sonic experience. Love to push the boundaries, Afaro (“Cloud Nine”, “Shady”) challenges listeners with his eclectic tastes, and for those who love Y2K breaks and hardcore beats, don’t miss Alfie Rrari who promises to deliver high-octane power rave vibes after headlining sold-out shows and regular club nights in KL.
